I'm always amazed when I manage to soar on the slightest breeze. Recently, I reduced the weight of my Ben Pilot by swapping the original ceramic boots with the scale looking 3D printed boots from Opale ~80g lighter.. I now carry a lighter RX Battery for times like these. 146g AA vs 67g AAA NiMH. When the breeze drops below 4kts I pull out all ballast and swap in my smaller RX battery. The breez...

I routinely fly RC paramodels at Palisades Park in Pacific Beach. It's like a scaled down version of the Torrey Pines Gliderport (except I am usually the only thing soaring the slope).
